Randstad Technologies' consulting and project services division, Sapphire Solutions, is looking for a Senior Principal Consultant with strong IT consulting experience. This individual will be an integral part in helping grow Sapphire Solutions. Key activities will include involvement in business development; pre-sales support including project assessment and planning, solution development, proposal development, client presentations, and contract negotiation; and post-sales (both billable and non-billable) project leadership, oversight and client management.

Type of Position: Full time salaried; will report to Sapphire Solutions’ Director

Work Location: (primary office): East Coast – Boston or Charlotte; West Coast - San Francisco.

• Assist Sapphire sales with account planning by assessing the current client opportunities, gathering information from existing engagements and consultant/contractor base, and participating in preparing the action plan for business development
• Leverage existing client relationships to develop business opportunities
• Support business development activities by providing delivery expertise and a clear understanding of our service capabilities, experience and methodologies for delivery
• Work directly with clients to assess their business, technical, process, resource, and contractual requirements to ensure our proposed solution aligns with their requirements
• Instill delivery confidence with prospects, ensure risk is managed, and facilitate solution development and communication
• With Business Development Manager and proposal team, manage Solution development, proposal, and contract process including:
  • Develop solution; scope, responsibilities, assumptions, estimates, resource and cost models, risk assessment, environmental factors and pricing model
  • Write proposals, quotes, statements of work, and other service agreements
  • Ensure master services agreements, contract terms, and pricing documents meet internal standards and risk requirements
  • Ensuring all internal stakeholder communication and document review is complete including all quality control checklists
• Communicating solution and value proposition during client meeting to win new business

Transition to Delivery:

• Manage project origination process including:
  • Capturing information required for initiating internal communication process for new project initiation
  • Establishing and managing engagement start dates with customer and internal project team
  • Ensuring statements of work, master services agreements, pricing, and other contractual documents go through revisions process to finalization
  • Participate in the resume review, interviewing and hiring or appropriate project staff
• Provide solution consulting and customer management advice during the project transition to delivery engagement/project managers and practice leadership

Account Management:

• Perform periodic customer, project, and solution "health checks’ with client project teams
• Conduct periodic client project review meetings
• Conduct ongoing Project Quality Reviews to ensure we are meeting client and contract expectations
• Work with leadership to develop case studies and capture intellectual property materials from project work performed
• Seek opportunities with the BDM to expand client relationships
  

  Required Experience:  
  
  

   

   

• Bachelors Degree and relevant technical hands-on experience
• 10+ years experience in IT program and project leadership roles including direct Project and Change Management responsibility.  Must have at least 5 years in direct client facing role.
• Must have strong technical understanding with the ability to build creditability and inspire confidence with client business and IT leaders as well as internally with Sapphire Ideal candidate will have IT consulting experience at senior level.  Manager or Senior Manager level where they have managed direct projects, program managed several concurrent consulting engagements, managed client expectations during projects, driven the expansion of current client relationships and supported sales efforts for new engagements
• Project management experience must include strong skills in

• Must have outstanding presentation, verbal and writing skills with the ability to communicate at all levels within the client and Sapphire organizations
• Must have strong business and IT acumen with the ability to communicate capabilities, gather and assess client requirements, and communicate solution and value proposition to clients
• Must be willing to serve in direct client billing roles as needed including conducting IT Assessments and managing client projects.
• A blended combination of strong understanding of the following technical skills:
  • Application Management (support and maintenance of business critical applications), or
  • Data Management (ETL, Data Warehouse, BI), or
  • Infrastructure Management, or
  • Application Development in .Net and/or Java/J2EE environments 
• Combined with excellent experience in Business Analysis, Quality Assurance (consulting, testing automation), and Program/Project Management Methodologies ( Agile, RUP, RAD, Scrum, Waterfall, ITIL)
• Experience developing estimates and writing Project Plans, Project Scope, Project Charters, Statements of Work, Assessment Documents and other client outsourcing agreements for professional services engagements

 

• Consistent experience working projects with budgets of $1M - $5M.
